It has a wide head with a short muzzle, and the jaws are extremely powerful. The ears may be cropped, but this decision is left up to the owner. The eyes should be circular and black in color. The teeth of the American Staffordshire Terrier should showcase a scissors bite. The coat should be dense, short, and glossy. While the coat can be any color, it should never be more than 75 percent white. The tail should be tapered, and a small part of the ears may be docked. These dogs will also feature sizeable bones.
